Perhaps, if you keep them longer then what I see in the paper (8 weeks)...say 12 to 16 weeks, you can add more for vets fees.

If a breeder has pet pups from their champion lines..and I mean champions in the second gen...puppy being the first generation, they already know the average price among breeders.
I agree with you too Pat. And...If there are any champion dogs beyond the 3rd generation (beyond grandparents) they really do not make the pups better. The champions are so far back they really do not contribute much of a benefit if any.

I would also check the quality of the pups. You could have pet pups/parents that are cute and look like yorkies with no problems. And then there are pet pups that are going to grow up not cute, or over sized, or terrier coat texture, or have big ears, etc.... If nice I would go by what the pet price is in your area and then if the pups are not going to be that nice, or oversized, or have a problem (over bite, etc..) I would reduce the price from there depending on the problem. So the further they are from the standard, I would reduce price. You could also go on some go-sees - Check out the pups of other pet breeders in your area and see. Just be careful when you come back home - you do not want to bring their germs into your home.
