I am a recent fan. I have been watching all the back episodes that I can find on satellite channels. I think I missed the whole 5th season though and I know that some of the episodes I have watched are out of sequence. Just from what I have seen so far I can't wait to see the new/final season and find out what has been going on. I wish they would start from the beginning and run the whole series again.
