We also have CHL's. I think my neighborhood is nice, but I still "carry" when I walk Buster and Maggie. I have had people in cars try to stop me while I have been out running and once they see where my hand is going, they drive off. I would not hesitate to use deadly force if someone was threatening me and trying to steal them.
