Also, as a general rule, a bed can be a big place for a little puppy. Even a puppy who doesn't dirty his sleeping area may think it's sufficient to pee in one corner and then sleep on another corner of the bed.

I think you'll need to really soak your mattress with Nature's Miracle. Now that it smells like dog pee, even a little bit, I imagine it will be even more tempting.

Are you taking him out every two hours, even at night? If not, he may just have resigned himself to sleeping in it. They can't hold it long at that age.

Something I've heard works for puppies is to place their crate somewhere they can see you while you sleep.

I'm hoping not harder to potty train than a yorkie cause Canyon at almost 2 years still has his moments.

Luckily, the urine had not penetrated the mattress pad to the mattress so all was washed. I think he must have to go in the middle of the night and doesn't whimper or anything to where I can hear him and it's a long way down so he's not going to jump and he just pees. Last night, it was back in the crate on my bed next to me where it's always been, he slept and so did I. I thought for sure the towel in his crate would be wet this morning but it wasn't. I also took away his water about 1 1/2 hours prior to bed. We spend ALOT of time outside so he's got lots of potty breaks, probably ever 15 mins.

I think you're right, a bed is a big place and he's young, will continue to crate until I'm sure he's able to hold it all night or at least big enough to get off the bed and get to the potty pad.

Thanks for the advice.
