I used to make them and and even sold a few here. They are easy enough to make, especially if you sew. I prefer now to underline all of the dresses I make with satin/silk rather than to fit them with two garments. But making the undershirts you are really using just the bodice portion of a dog dress pattern. If your dress has actual arm holes make them bigger than a normal garment so the edges won't show out from under your dress.
