Maddie was a year when i adopted her at a rescue-i would say it took about 3-4 weeks for her to come around and trust. I think she just needed to know she was loved and wasnt going anywhere. once she knew this was here home i seen improvement on a daily basis. it took longer for her to come around to my husband--since a man wasnt to nice to her before. but she loves him to death now. i had almost bought a puppy a few months before i got maddie, but i decided with my schedule a pup probably wasnt going to be the best choice for me. i later found maddie and i feel in love--and at a year old, much easier to train--she was and is so eager to please-- at 17 months now--she is my spoiled baby. even my older kids that have moved out say-Geese mom you act like shes a real kid-----i say she is--shes the good one---hahahaha
