We have 5 dogs and they find the strangest positions to sleep in. My mom's dog sleeps upside down like that especially in the summer when it is hot! He has really long hair which we cut really short during the summer. I've seen my Jinx, my yorkie, in that position on her couch with her head hanging off the seat area. Practically touching the floor. When I tried to move her into a better position she just went back to the same position. I don't know how they find it comfortable.
