Ok... thats all I know about burns is that my 15 year old carries two big scars on his leg from a dirt bike muffler burn from last September. I know dogs/kids aren't the same however...we did silvadene cream 1% and gauze dressing 3x a day. Most important thing about burns are they are real prone to infection. My sons plastic surgeon told me if I neglected to keep the infection at bay, we were looking at skin graff surgery. so needless to say...I opted for keeping the burn very clean. Burns heal slowly. I changed dressings for 6 plus months. My son was a good patient and would shower off before I changed the dressing...we did this 3x a day in between work/school. But, it has healed nicely and he does have scarring...but its much better than what could of happened....Burns are horribly painful...I can't believe they could not have heard the poor dog crying for help....my god...I feel horrible
