I didn't like it when some stranger actually accused us of breaking his ear when he was a puppy! If it Did get "broken" when he was small it had to have been from his sire/dame/sibling doing it because it was like that from the first time we saw him at 4 weeks old!
You can't break an ear, it's not bone, but cartilage, some dogs have droopy ears, because, the hair on the ear wasn't clipped short enough as a puppy, and the thick hair weighed the ear down. I agree with the others, I think some dogs look adorable with floppy ears, if you aren't going to breed or show, it's not important.
