i prefer probiotics and use dds plus non-dairy as dogs are usually lactose intolerant
i use two capsules on a plate 20-30 min before food in am

when mine have diarrhea i double it up - i just started it on 1/4 for my girl that was having diarrhea after i took her off due to metacam incident and it stopped immediately but i used 2 in am 2 in pm
if your dog will not lick it up like mine stopped doing then i mix in a tiny bit of pumpkin with it just enough to get the powder mixed in and she loves it - i get organic canned pumpkin from whole foods
the thing is too much pumpkin can cause diarrhea so i would start with small amounts but i prefer the probiotics
