sometimes pain is your best ally though as if they get the pain meds they think they are fine thus using it more and not resting as much and can re-injure so that is the prob with the pain meds along with side effects.
A soft tissue injury can take some time like 2 mos of rest. It took two months when my girl hurt her leg jumping off doggie stairs the wrong way. She had no break either and metacam made her sick so we just rested her and she would have off and on bouts getting up slow at times and lifting at times as it was back leg. She did not scream out in pain though so that is concerning as they are in alot more pain with a break. She only screamed out when injury first occured. |
We have some of the metacam but I gave her the Tramadol both were given to us last time she was limping because she started limping again after taking the metacam a few days. I can not get her to take the pill and I feel bad about it I have tried putting it in EVERYTHING even crushing it up and mixing it in with a little ice cream still nothing she tried it and I guess tasted the meds.
