Hi neighbor, I'm no expert but I believe 9wks is to small for them to comprehend much. My advise is too train him all over and don't place him on your bed until his fully train. Some people say they naturaly don't pee were they sleep but it's not all cases. Your baby is too small too jump the bed and lets face it it might make it more warm and cozy.
Maybe keep his crate next to your bed, yeah he will whine and cry but your the Alpha here. I did catch mine and gave her a BIG No and she got the point. Good Luck!!
