Mine do ... they patrol the perimeter of the yard, and at night they check out all the rooms. My daughter falls asleep on the couch a lot, and she says they walk around all the walls, and check on sleeping people by standing up with their feet on the couch and sniffing them. When everything's to their satisfaction, they go back to the bedroom with me. Apparently they take turns: Puddie goes first, then Bella later, then Puddie again ... all night long.
They're not big dogs (regardless of what they think!), so if something was NOT to their liking, what would they do about it? But I think it's so sweet
