I know that it was because those babies were preemies, but I was also responsible for everything with them. This being Livi's second litter, we are obviously new to it all, but yet somehow we find ourselves once again thrown into the worst case scenario category. I cannot even begin to tell you how loving my husband and I are with our fur kids and to see this happen....it's tough to comprehend the reason behind it. The retained placenta, yes, I can take responsibility but not what medication was prescribed to Livi. Even though I am blaming myself because ultimately, I am the one that put that pill in her mouth....I can't stop crying as I think about it!

Karen~

Sorry about my PM box being full. I meant to clear it out, but haven't gotten to it. I am not going to delete any right now....I am headed to bed. You have my email...will you send me your number again. I know I have it written down, but my mind is so fuzzy that I cannot think of where I put many things right now. Thanks K!

Geoff and I just fed Livi and the puppies so I am going to try to get some rest now....my 4 and 6 year olds will be up in about 3 hours, asking for breakfast. Thanks again to everyone for the support...we definitely need it!!!
Tammy,

I prepare for every litter to the fullest. Make sure I have every concievable med on hand. Plasma, Lactose ringers, you name it I have it ready......but, nothing prepared me for the moment my girl started going down. I had taken all the necessary precautions. POP shot given after the whelp, vet checked, etc.....

When you get these pups eating properly.....you've only got another week or so until they can lap that goat's milk on their own. My girl's pups began losing weight for a couple of days, until I switched them to goat's milk, after my repro vet screamed at me to get them off of Just Born.
