If your vet is going to overcharge you for Lactulose (shame on him!) tell him you want a script and have it filled at your local pharmacy. Humans take it too, main use is as a laxative but is very effective in removing toxins from the bowel. You can dose her orally and put some on her food.... better if you can get her to eat 3-4 small meals a day, with Lactulose on the food. Of course, discuss these suggestions with your vet.
Lactulose 473 mL = $30.00 (from my vet) local pharmacy may be cheaper.
Strength = 10gm/15mL human script is the same I think no diff, very safe, if one requires a stronger dose you just up the amount you give.
General guideline is that you give enough to produce a formed but very soft stool: hard to pick up mush but not diarrhea.
Please keep her on a leash especially with head/brain problems. Something could spook her and cause her to head into traffic which was clearly evident in your video.
