I use K9 Advantix.
Frontline did not work for Max. I pulled 3 ticks off of him one day and that was enough! I switched to K9 Advantix the next month and in 1 1/2 years have only seen 1 tick on him and it was dead.
If you kept the tick you could take it into your vet and have them look at it.
