i got mine when she was 5. she attached to me right away and follows me everywhere. at first, she shook alot especially with new people but she has calmed right down and is far less anxious. she is housebroken for the most part, i leave a puppy pad in the ex-pen if shes left alone for a few hours, she uses it but rarely. shes definitely a one-person kind of pup. she was a show dog so bathing her is super easy, everything has been she is perfect i couldn't have asked for better. i am thinking about maybe adding a puppy but after having billie it would probably be really hard, she just seems so easy in comparison. shes 5 lbs so she seems like a youngster anyway. she definitely needs her own safe spaces (ex-pen with a bed in it, and a soft crate). the crate is on my bedside table with the flap down and she slept in it for the first few weeks, but now she starts off in there and then joins me in bed and sleeps right beside me. the lady i got her from has puppy sat for me once for 5 days and it went really well, at first i thought she would be confused or scared i wasn't returning but i have learned with her that she is fine with the familiar, changes have to come slowly but its been great. if you are considering adding an older dog to your family, i would definitely say in my expereince it has been a dream come true.
