Thanks I didn't know any of those tricks. I'm so happy i found this web site. I 've been feeling like a horrible mommy but I'm so new at this and was never a dog person ever and just fell head over heels in love and can't stop stressing about the hair thing, she needs a bath but everyone tells me it will make it worse. then my vet said she can't get groomed until her last round of shots. Am going to try your tricks and go from there. thank you so much.

Make sure the brush you're using doesn't hurt her (brush on your skin with the same amount of pressure you use on her). Don't brush her with dry hair, use watered down hair conditioner and lightly mist her first. Brushing dry hair will break the hair and is more painful for her bc of tangles.

Be patient and try not to get frustrated as she will pick up on your mood. Several short, fun sessions a day are much better than a long drawn out unpleasant grooming session.
