We did this before! When Uni was a baby, about 6 mos old we went to Vegas for a convention and we didn't want to leave her with anyone. Well we stayed at a cheapy hotel so I'm sure no one really cared (the other guests). Uni was in a bag the whole time in the lobby, and in the elevator she was whining, and I tried to make it look like my luggage cart had squeaky wheels as I kept rolling it back and forth. A couple in the elevator knew what was up. They took one guess, "a yorkie?" and we sheepishly were like, yeah.
We left the "do not disturb" sign on the door, tipped the nice housekeeping lady for "extra towels" and not to bug us, and we put up a mattress blocking off the bedroom from the entry area to muffle her whines if she were to make any noise. She didn't really at that age, she was still very quiet. Oh we also kept the tv on too.
Then come to find out, there was another hotel in the next town that was pet friendly anyway, AND there were a few vendors at the convention that had their pets with them! One was a tiny yorkie too.

We could have just brought her along.
