I just moved back in with my parents, to their apartment in LA. Kaji is doing OK with the transition. I did most of what the others have mentioned. What I would recommend is, if your baby loves to play fetch, choose a long hallway, or leave a nice long clear path where you can toss the ball. Kaji loves playing fetch in the hallway! I toss the ball from the living room down to my parents bedroom (the farthest distance) and he could do this till my arm is sore!
