Also if you used a "Tell Bell" or "Dog Chime" could you let me know how you felt about the product. They look good on line but wonder if they are worth the money. Are bells on a string just as effective?

I used poochie bells, but you can make a ribbon with the big bells on it in different places. I can hear them all over the house. Perhaps I'm just tuned into them and listen without thinking about it.

When I started, I would take Kacee's foot or nose and ring the bells and ask her if she wanted to go pee. Then I would take her out. I would praise her royally after she went and then I'd give her a piece of cheese as a reward. I started her out on them as soon as I got her and she picked it up in a few weeks. She went through a puppy phase of ringing them for all kinds of reasons - ringing them all of the time. Even to get me to come play with her! I'm glad I stuck it out, because it has been wonderful. She only rings them to go potty.
