I can't tell you how shocked I was when I got the last bill...$53.50 just for the "office visit / consultation." (All I went in for was the shot.) Then, everything else was tacked on. $36 for the shot. Even an additional $4.99 for throwing away the needle for her rabies shot. Hazardous waste. Good grief.
I'd like to know if these charges are about average or not. I'm in Massachusetts, if that makes a difference. His charges sure shot up like a rocket after VCA took over. |
I think Massachusetts, California and New York (where I live) are the highest. My vet charges $68.00 a visit and then tacks everything else on. The Rabies shot is$45.00, Stool check is $35.00 and a heartworm blood test is $56.00 just to name a few. With 5 furbabies the vet can get pretty expensive especially a few of mine have health issues.
