No, they usually are not. Hawks and owls are really dangerous. Coyotes, foxes, snakes. You name it. When Muffin (rip) was a puppy, we went out one night and there was a opposum halfway under the fence and I had a terrible time catching her. She kept running up toward it and I was soooo scared for her. Finally, I caught her. It's so frightening when you think of all of the terrible things that can happen to them. Snakes are always a worry for me. I don't see that many here, but occasionally. Killed the opposum because he continued to return to her fenced-in yard repeatedly. Killed a rattlesnake this past summer just outside her yard. I almost tripped over him.
