My Edie is chipped. I call her my bionic Yorkie. All vets and refuge leagues scan stray dogs for chips when they come in now. When they scan, an ID number pops up. They they call a phone number to get the owner info. If you move, you should have your chip registration info changed.
Edie got her chip when she was under anesthesia for her spay operation. It was only $30.
