I'm going to guess an IV catheter...
Don't ever feel bad or embarassed to ask your vet questions.... You're paying them, which makes you the boss, and they work for you. If they make you feel bad or rushed... then that would be time to look for a new vet. Praying all goes well tonight... Get some rest!
