I dont think there are any pros. They can take the shock and run out of the area and get hit, stolen, or lost, it doesn't keep other animals or people out, and its a shock would you like to be shocked I mean the list goes on and on and on. Training a dog to stay is possible it might just take a lot of work but it is very important to train them not to run out the door. You could also sit your grandchildren down and explain to them how very important it is for them to close the door or the doggie could get kidnapped or hit by a car.
