Today I'm having such a hard time with this tooth. It does not hurt but it is broken in 1/2 and I cannot chew on that side of my mouth, it's driving me crazy and my tounge keeps looking for it! Pulling a tooth is pretty cheap, it's the other work they do that's expensive. You're lucky you have insurance to cover some, I wish I did. I know its probably driving you crazy, but maybe that might help you make the appointment! Hope all goes well!
