Good size piece of linoleum
A few pee pads, put the plastic tray on top of those pee pads, put more pee pads in the tray and tuck under, lay dog turf on top. I change pee pads daily, and 1x a week, I put the grass into a zipped up pillow case and into the wash with soap and bleach, then hang dry over night.

This helps with peeing on the edge.

Now my female has taken up to peeing in odd places too. It is a stress reliever to them to do pee or poop. Not sure how to break that.

Mine are both 5 y/o now and I still use a Treat Reward. Peanut butter chips from the baking isle are really effective.
Excellent ideaI was going to buy this item I saw called the "puppy patch" Basically the same idea you have with the artificial grass except yours is cheaper I will try to find those treats. We cannot punish him because we NEVER see him do it only 2 times we heard him going on the carpet next to the bed when we wouldnt pick him up... I am a few steps away from a diaper
