Kristin,
You've asked a loaded question. As most of my boys are studs marking is something I deal with on a day to day basis. How I deal with this problem is belly bands.
As far as training a nuetered male, should be fairly easy, if they've never been used for stud. However, bringing in a new male into the house may trigger male instincts. Nuetered boys will mark when they enter a new territory....the best thing is to keep belly bands on them for those occassions.
At what age do they begin marking, I've got a wee one here that began marking and hiesting his leg at 12 weeks of age......Keeping my eye on this guy so, he won't be nuetered.
Now I'm sure all this is clear as mud.......right? Each boy is different and can be trainable.....it all depends on how consistent and devoted you are to the training. Oh! and keep that spray bottle with vinegar and water handy.....
