So much depends on the size of your dog, and the amount of garlic. Was it one clove, or a whole bulb? Garlic is in many dog foods, and many vets and nutritionists recommend it, but there has been one case of a dog consuming a whole bottle of garlic powder, and the dog did die, so it really has more to do with the amount for the size of the dog. I would call my vet, and ask what to do, sometimes giving hydrogen peroxide right away (within the first half hour) helps, but you need to know the right amount for your dog. The hydrogen peroxide causes vomiting, but if you wait too long other methods should be used. Best of luck, let us know what happens. Garlic has been grouped with onions as being toxic, but onions are much more dangerous. |
