I don't want you to freak out anymore because, yes more than likely, Emmett is FINE!
However, I am super super super cautious about parvo because Franklin got it about 2 weeks after we got home. We rushed him to the emergency vet and he had to spend 6 days there, costing us over $1600. Luckily he lived but it was a constant struggle of keeping him hydrated and preventing him from throwing up/having diarrhea. He had NEVER been outside and already had 2 sets of vaccinations. However, because vaccinations given before 8 weeks are basically rendered useless by the maternal antibodies, puppies aren't fully protected until after their last set of vaccinations.
Like I said, Emmett is probably fine so don't lose any sleep over it. Just do make sure that you know the symptoms of parvo (lethargy, constant vomiting and diarrhea), and that you rush him to the vet if you see any of these signs because it a serious disease. |
