Wow 4 1/2 months? or you mean 4 1/2 days? The vet or breeder is supposed to dock the tails, if they want to, around one week of age. Same as dewclaws. Well, I've heard of removing the dewclaws during s/n, but not tail docking.

I don't know how I feel about tail docking. Absolutely it is unnecessary nowadays (no more ratting) and of course I know it causes them pain, but I do like the look of the docked tail. However, I love the full tail too, just another way to show emotion.
