So sorry for your loss. We drove from Fla to Mich for our daughters wedding with our recorder and took some great shots of everything. Personal messages, wedding ceremony, afterwards, etc. I took it to Walmart to make it into a DVD from the mini cassette and the erased the whole thing. Thankfully my daughter copied it to her camera before we left so there is a copy of it but if she had not done it..... It's not the same as your situation but I certainly sympathize.
