I have 3 and until my pom passed last year had 4. I had always only had one dog at a time until 4 years ago, then I added a second, then a third and then a fourth. I wish I had done it sooner. They really do like having canine companionship and are still just as loving to me. The down side is it is a little harder to take 2 or more with you. If you can afford the vet bills if an additional one I say go for it. Are you looking at adopting a puppy or an adult? Most rescues do an interaction with your dog and the one you are looking to adopt so that gives you an idea how they will get along. Keep us posted.
