Yorkies are a toy breed. They are not classified by size, such as the Poodle; Standard, Minature, and Toy. The standard says not to exceed 7 pounds. But, in every litter you can get oversized and undersized.

Throw away the growth charts, the yorkie growth pattens are very dependent on the line in which they are decendent from and even then it's a guesstimate. The only thing you can depend upon is that the Yorkie breed will make a liar out of you everytime. No reputable breeder will guarantee a puppies size at adult hood. The only way you can be sure of what you will get is to buy an older puppy, one that is about 7 months or older, it's what most exhibitor/breeders do when looking for a dog that will be taken in the ring to Champion. I prefer my girls between 6 and 7 pounds with nice medium bone. Less problems when it comes to breeding.
