I think boy/girl pairings usually work out well. We had Bandit (boy) first and when he was about 2 we got a girl puppy, but were concerned because Bandit can be dominant, but the girl turned out to be the dominant one, but only to Bandit. At doggie day care and the dog park she's on her back more than half the time
