My yorkie mix Bella is almost three, and we just got Rocco a couple weeks ago. She was very excited at first, but once he tried mounting her she didn't want anything to do with him for a few days. But she got over it pretty quickly (walking them together helps tons) and they've really bonded! Now she looks for him in the mornings, and doesn't even bat an eye when me and her daddy get ready to leave. I have so much more of a peace of mind knowing that she's not home alone while we're at work or class. I would suggest, if you don't plan on breeding, to get them fixed of course. Not only for the obvious reason, but so that hopefully the male's desire to mount her will lessen. This is the main that makes Bella irritated lol. Other than that, they are such a joy, and I'm so glad I have the best of both worlds! Good luck!
