LOL I remember garter belts too. I loved the pantyhose idea till I found that unlike the stockings you got one pair per package instead of two. I felt like I was paying more and getting less. With four stockings per package you could stretch them out a long time between purchases.
I was 12 or 13 for my first wedding....I think.
