If you're determined to get a yorkie, working 12+ hours a day, I would suggest you get a yorkie that is past the puppy stage and is house trained already. You might consider a rescue yorkie as most of them are not puppies. I don't think most yorkies (especially puppies) would thrive being alone more than half their waking hours.
