It can get hot here in Los Angeles and Jinx likes a little bit of shade if I'm walking further than she can. She's about 5 lbs. too. When she gets tired she just wants me to pick her up and then she lays down in the doggie purse or she sits up in it. It is convenient in that it also holds her water bottle and mine, her poop bags and a small walet. She sits up in the bag while I walk that way she can still see everything around us while she takes a break from walking.
