Last year my husband got a free turkey and he deep fried it. You can buy the cookers that come with the peanut oil and everything, a kit, at Walmart. It sounds like it would be greasy but it isn't. If you've never eaten a fried turkey, it is DELICIOUS!!! When baking it in the oven it's hard to keep it from drying out...Just a thought that maybe you had not thought of and I highly reccomend it
