I am sorry that you and Brody must go through this. I have always heard that if a dog won't eat, he is very sick. Brody may be suffering more than you realize and it might be best to take your vet's advice. If you let him go now you will have mostly happy memories of him and if he gets worse and suffers visibly you will always have those sad memories. Of course we must remember that vets deal with these situations all the time and have had to learn not to think about it in an emotional way, while we are all emotions when it comes to our beloved pets. Whether it is a young dog or an old dog, it is so difficult to deal with this issue, it is almost unbearable. But losing a beloved pet is part of having a pet, whether the loss is because of illness or accident. We all go through it sooner or later. I hope you will know when the time is right and that it will bring you peace.
