Default I need soe advice.. this will be long..

Even though I said I was going to stay away from CL's I didnt.. 2 days ago a woman posted about her having some small mixed bred pups that she was going to give away to anyone that wanted them that was willing to bottle feed them. I didnt see the original post but by all the negative posting I got the gist of what was going on. So being the animal lover that I am, I contacted her via email told her that the best thing to do for the pups was to keep them with their mom and if she absoulty had no means of taking care of them that I could help her out. She responded back quickly, told me that the pups were only 2 days old , that she offered them early so people could give them as valentines gifts , didnt no any better (not sure how old she is), that she was turned in and was now going to keep them untill March . I did tell her that if she needed help with anything (as far as care for the pups etc) to contact me. I was not the only one that offered help, there was another woman whowas a vet tech that also has been in contact with the woman and she as of yesterday was wondering if the vet tech would take in both the mom and the pups as a Foster type thing. I have been in contact with the vet tech and if she cant take them, then I offered too.. (my hubby is gonna kill me..lol) but she hasnt heard back from the woman, either have I.. However we (vet tech) have both agreed that this woman should relinquish at least the pups over so that all the vet care and expenses can be taken care of by her or I, thinking that this woman cant afford any of that, that is why she offered the pups up so early. Do you think that is right or no?... and if I do take on the mom and pups.. what do I need to make sure I have on hand ?. I have a great vet and a vet tech friend who takes in unwanted pups she has to hand feed on a regular basis, so I have that kind of help if I need it.What kind of food would I need, ( i have all life stage stuff here but do I need anything different?) would i need a heating pad, etc. I have an extra large wire kennel. The pups are chi, jack russell and pekingnese mixes so they will be tiny.
I have taken in a mom and pups before, the pups were 2 weeks old and a bigger breed, the mom was great and took very good care of the pups so the work on my part was very minimal.. but being that these pups are consideraby smaller Im sure I will need to be more active with thier care. Any advice, info that you all have to offer would be greatly appreciated..
