Uni does this too! I don't know how she knew that stay meant stop and freeze as well b/c if we say stop or freeze she doesn't know what we want of her! If she is tapping me on the leg, and I bend down to pick her up and she backs away (which is annoying, why do you do that?
) I say "stay" and she stays, wags her tail, and puts her head down, like "okay...."
