I feed Harley twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening...but only 3/4 cups between both meals. Sometimes she leaves a little so 1/2 cup would probably be perfect for her. I think it just depends on their weight....but I wouldn't get him used to always having food in the bowl because down the road he could have a weight problem...my in-laws have a chihuahua and they fill the bowl everytime it's empty and now Lucy is obese and has breathing problems because of the excess weight on her small frame.
