Here is one of many sites that discusses the problems. Personally, I would not revaccinate a dog with severe reactions. Vaccination Risk for Small Dogs | Truth4Dogs |
Great post! I also do a titer.
I know this is a huge decision for you and I suggest you do your own research to make a decision on what you feel is the best for your baby.
In California, the law requires all dogs to have rabies shots. Fortunately I have a vet who practices both conventional and alternative medicine and upon my request he give a "holistic dose" for the rabies - another words he gives the bare minimum he is able to under the state law.
All other vaccinations I always get a titer done prior and again request the "holistic" dosage.
I'm not a die hard holistic person and feel western medicine has it's uses but I do believe most vets tend to over vaccinate dogs/cats and it does more harm than good. I don't even use heartworm or flea/tick topicals and instead use lavender and cedar oils diluted in water to spritz them (and me) to keep the critters away. I live in Southern California and it has worked for me for several years.
Take you time and think it over - you will know what is right for you and your baby.
