Default Has not walking Tobey daily made his muscles weaker??

Let me start by saying, Tobey is 3 years old and has been jumping up in my bed multiple times a day for all but the first three months of his life. All of the sudden about 2 weeks ago, he started acting like he couldn't jump up there anymore. He would hop and hop like he was trying to jump but couldn't. When the weather turned colder this year, I basically quit walking him. He is potty pad trained and used to get alot of exercise from running around our backyard, but I moved a year ago and now have an apartment. the only real exercise he gets is the walks a few times per week that I used to do, but with the cold weather, that has stopped. Do you think his lack of exercise might have made his muscles weaker and that is why he acts like he can't jump up on the bed by himself anymore? Or am I just a crazy mom and really he is fine? Maybe I should just brave the weather and take him for a few more walks.... brr!
