Default Thor's coloring getting weirder

Hi everyone! I haven't posted in a long time, but I thought this was interesting, and wanted to see if anyone has experiences similar.

Thor's coat is lighter than almost any other Yorkie I've seen. If I look closely, I can see that his saddle is actually two hair colors, about 4 white hairs for every black one.

A few month ago, he scratched off a big piece of his coat (I think flea allergy). It's growing back in nicely -- but it is almost all black!

The one other Yorkie I've seen like Thor was even whiter/silver than he, but with these random black streaks.

Is this a super-uncommon gene expression? Anyone else ever seen this?
