I know that you said she is average size, but I consider 9lbs. to be a small dog. I have a 9 and a half pound Yorkie and also a 22lb. and even my bigger guy is a small dog. Maybe it's because people are used to seeing 5 or 6lb. Yorkies, but your fur baby is still a small dog (and cute!)
