Flaking can be caused by many things......you could be over bathing him, the heater could be drying his scalp.
Here's a couple of things you can do.
Bathe him with Head and Shoulders......then a good clarifying shampoo and then rinse with a 1 part vinegar to 10 parts water.....follow up with a good moisturizing conditioner....let it set about 5 minutes and rinse....Only bathe him about every 10 days in the winter. You also can use Alberto VO5 Hot Oil treatment....follow the directions.....
Add a salmon oil to his food.....may need Omega 3 and 6 ......
